Forbes Reports on Google's Dream Phone

Codenamed "dream" by Google, this prototype phone was built by Google to sell the Android mobile OS to manufacturers and companies, as reported by Forbes:

[It] looks somewhat like Apple's iPhone: It is thin, about 3 inches wide and 5 inches long, and features a touch-sensitive, rectangular screen. Unlike the iPhone, the screen is also time-sensitive: Hold down your finger longer, and the area you're controlling expands. The bottom end of the handset, near the navigational controls, is slightly beveled so it nestles in the palm. The screen also swivels to one side, revealing a full keyboard beneath.

The so-called GPhone or "Google Phone" promises a completely open and comprehensive mobile experience-no doubt assurances we've heard before. At least we can be sure of Google's commitment to openness and accessibility, so long as they're able to serve the ads and gain a new platform for their core business.

I thought the gphone is over, it’s all about the applications, isn’t it? But people are still looking for something new – a new design , new hardware, a new product to changes the way you communicate. That’s what I am still hoping for. Not just another phone or another iphone, please.
