Fitting Wi-Fi into microSD
Miniaturization marches on. Spectec has recently announced a microSD Wi-Fi card, naming it the SDW 823. This means that any smartphone or PDA with a microSD card slot, and supports the SDIO Now! 1.0 standard, will gain 802.11b/g Wi-Fi capability.

Before you all jump for joy, know that only Windows Mobile is supported. So users of gadgets like the Treo 650 and 700p will have to wait longer (or even forever) for Wi-Fi expandability.

MicroSD cards are becoming very popular, thanks to their unbelievably small size. They're only 23 millimeters long, 11 mm wide, and 0.7 mm thick. In fact, it's slightly bigger than my pinky nail.

When Can I Buy it and For How Much? No word yet on pricing and availability. Expect more info on The Smart PDA.

Thanks to Windows Mobile Today for the heads-up.
