Does the Palm Pre has the fastest browser?

jkOnTheRun has posted an interesting article comparing the speed of browsers on the Palm Pre and iPhone. The comparison was made by loading a heavy website known as Big12sports.com using a WiFi connection. According to the comparison, the Palm Pre browser loaded the site in just 8 seconds whereas the iPhone's Safari loaded the site in 30 seconds. Palm Pre managed to edge past its rival probably due to the fact that it comes with a faster processor, faster browser and a cache.

Some users have also tried loading the Big12sports website on their devices and here are the results posted by them:

iPhone 3G- 30 seconds via WiFi
T-Mobile G1- 14 seconds via WiFI
BlackBerry Storm- 18 seconds via 3G
HTC Touch HD (Opera Mobile)- 1 min 15 seconds
PalmTreo 750 (Opera mini)- 28 seconds via 3G
Verizon HTC Touch Pro- 55 second over EVDO
N78- 4 minutes via WiFi
HTC Touch (IE)- 60 seconds via 3g
Sony Ericsson G900 (Oper Mobile)- 2 minutes on WiFi
Sprint Mogul (SkyFire)- 15 seconds via EVDO RevA

So is the Palm Pre really going to have the fastest browser in the market when it is launched? Well we will have to wait until the Palm Pre is launched!
