CTIA Unleashes a Flash Attack on Google
Filed in archive Opinion by Rico Mossesgeld on July 26, 2007
Check out the CTIA site. They've posted a short flash animation
that continues their attack on Google. All over the upcoming 700 Mhz auction whose results will have an important, if not immediately clear, impact on the lives of future smartphone and PDA users:
Why is the CTIA attacking Google with sound bites ("A company worth $160 Billion doesn't need a government handout" and "Google's proposed rules would rig the 700Mhz auction... turning taxpayers' money into corporate welfare") instead of thoughtful arguments? And why do they subtly criticize then praise the FCC chairman on the same day? And how is giving the FCC a $4.6 billion incentive to require open networks rigging the game?
