Confessions of an SMS Driver

My name is Rico Mossesgeld, and I'm a bad driver.
No it's not because I fail to signal before turning. Nor is it the way I cut into lane openings. Not even my driving at 60 kph in a residential road.
I'm a bad driver because while I zoom down the highway at 100+ kph, I'm busy texting on my smartphone. And continue to do so, despite almost rear-ending a truck because of it.
Yes, I know the dangers. Not only to myself, but to my fellow drivers as well. The problem is, in my text-crazy country, everyone's practically doing it, so I guess we're all on the same boat.
But that's no excuse. I promise to no longer text while driving, even if my contact urgently demands a reply, and I can't take the time to pull over and compose my answer safely.
And yes, even if I can actually write this post on my mobile, with a numeric keypad and while driving, I promise to give that up, lest the curse of mobility take over my life. Because in today's world, don't text and drive should hold as much weight as don't drink and drive.

You’re right Rico. Writing messages while driving is as bad as drinking before driving, but you could always get worse. For example Drinking WHILE driving. So we, sms drivers, are not so bad after all.

Yep, but “SMS Driving” still has its share of dangers, catastrophic traffic accidents being one of them.
