ByWifi.Com = Mobile YouTube. And Google Videos. And Metacafe. And a TinyTube.net Clone

I'd say "Now you can watch YouTube videos on your smartphone or PDA", but ByWifi.com reminds me so much of TinyTube.net. So I'll just say: "Now you can watch YouTube videos on your smartphone or PDA. Again."

Like TinyTube.net, ByWifi.com formats videos from major video sharing services into a format that you can easily watch on your mobile gadget's small screen.

Like TinyTube.net, ByWifi.com lets you search through these services' catalog, making it easier to watch the videos you want.

Like TinyTube.net, ByWifi.com's home page is an exercise in minimalism, formatted for easy access from a smartphone or PDA.

But wait! There's more!
Like TinyTube.net…

TinyTube provides search and video proxy services for mobile devices. It enables search and video playback from several major video sharing services by optimizing web pages for smaller displays and reformatting video clips.

ByWifi.com…

ByWiFi provides search and video proxy services for mobile devices. It enables search and video playback from several major video sharing services by optimizing web pages for smaller displays and reformatting video clips.

And for the Pièce de résistance: the text below appears on both sites:

Registered users are offered several additional benefits. They have the ability to track their most recently and most frequently viewed videos, as well as their most recent and most frequent search phrases.

Let's hope the same people are involved in TinyTube.net and ByWifi.com. If not, then TinyTube has good reason to accuse ByWifi of plagiarism.

Ah, but when you're talking about saving the videos, that's where ByWifi.com differentiates itself. From my own tests, you can stream videos from both mobile services. But you can't save videos through TinyTube.net. ByWifi.com lets you save the videos as .3GPs, which is a file format most smartphones and PDAs can handle.

Which is a great feature, no doubt about it. But TinyTube.net was issued an order to cease-and-desist making YouTube videos available on-the-go. How long will it take for ByWifi.com, which serves videos from YouTube, Google Videos, and Metacafe, to suffer the same fate?

Thanks to a source, I also found out that TinyTube.net now also supports major online video sharing services, and also let's you save videos as .3GPs. These developments happened before I found out about ByWifi.com, which only reinforces my point that ByWifi.com is a TinyTube.net clone through and through.

    I think bywifi.com is beyond tinytube.net.

In ByWiFi, you can share your favour videos with your friend through email. The feature is great! I like it! :-)
