You've got to hand it to Palm. Though they're losing ground in the high-end smartphone market like HTC and even Nokia, they still come up with wonderful features that everyone else wants to copy. Like how ThreadSMS gives S60 smartphones the same SMS chat we see on Palm Treos.
So Birdsoft's Contact-ing mimics the Treo 750's Photo dial feature, which lets you speed dial favorite contacts just by selecting a portrait thumbnail on the Home Screen. But in this case, it adds a little more depth, such as using the same photos you assign contacts in Outlook. Or the ability to orient the thumbnails as you please. Whether or not this addition sound appealing to you, there's always a chance to download the trial version and try before you buy ($9.95).
And it goes without saying the Contact-ing only works on Windows Mobile Pocket PCs or Smartphones. Version 5 of the OS that is.
