I once wrote about why I will never use Twitter. Recently, I came up with another reason.
In case you didn't know, users of Twitter can set up their mobiles to receive SMS updates. Whenever contacts post new twits, subscribers are notified via a text message. The sheer number of Twits being produced everyday, coupled with the amount of people who subscribe to keep posted, represents a significant and ultimately useless drain on badly-needed communication resources.
Whether or not you agree with me that Twitter is a pointless app, know that Twitter has limited the number of updates users can receive in the UK.
