Android 2.0- Multitouch, Universal Search and CDMA support coming soon

Good news for Android users as the Android 2.0 update AKA as Donut will soon be available. The new update will come with some useful features that will add to the power of Android OS.

Here is the list of features:

Multitouch Support: We all know that the Android OS had multitouch capabilities but Google preferred not to include it in previous versions of Android OS due to some legal issues. Android users will be glad to know that they will soon be able to enjoy the Multitouch feature on their Android Smartphones.

Universal Search: This feature was introduced for the first time on Palm Pre. Well Google didn't want to be left behind and therefore this feature has been included in the Android 2.0 update. It will allow users to search anything and everything from a single location, which will add to the usability of the Android OS.

CDMA support: CDMA support will allow more US operators to offer Android devices to their users.

New Widgets: The Android 2.0 update will come with some new widgets such as a widget that will allow WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS/Email toggling and Brightness adjustment directly from the homescreen.

Other useful features include Text to Speech, VPN support, WPA Enterprise WiFi encryption support and automated backups etc.
