Amazon launches shopping App. for Android Smartphones

After launching shopping Apps. for iPhone and Blackberry Smartphones, Amazon has launched a shopping App. for Android Smartphones. It allows Android users to purchase items and do much more directly from their Android handsets. It also allows users to search their desired products by taking photos or scanning barcodes via the device camera.

Here are the features of the App:

It allows users to purchase items using Amazon's 1-Click ordering and Amazon Prime
It allows users to track packages or modify orders using the Your Account feature
It allows users to receive personalized recommendations & view editorial and customer reviews
It allows users to access their Wish List and Gold Box Deal of the Day
It allows users to build a list of products they want to remember for later and make price comparisons across multiple merchants

Director of Amazon Mobile, Sam Hall made the following comments on the launch:

Customers have been requesting an Amazon shopping application on their Android devices and we are thrilled to bring them the Amazon App for Android. In addition to their favorite Amazon shopping features, Amazon App for Android users can use Amazon Remembers to easily keep track of the items they see in their daily lives and even instantly match photos and barcodes to products available at Amazon.com.
