A Tipsheet for Your Symbian Smartphone
Sep 20, 2006

It takes a while to become comfortable with a new gadget; you're still learning its quirks, what it can and can't do, and what you need to do to get the most out of it. A helpful soul over at 3-Lib (hosters of The Smartphones Show) has posted a tipsheet for many popular Symbian smartphones that will bring you up to speed. Most of them are recent models from Nokia, such as the E61, N93, and E70. But Sony Ericsson's UIQ phones (P800, P900, and P910) also enjoy their own page, and so do less-known units from Psion and Sendo.
I Want More! Nokia E61 users, you're in luck. Here's a detailed tipsheet that features most, if not all, keyboard shortcuts for the smartphone.

With the Nokia E61, there’s S60′s usual ‘active’ standby screen. Don’t just take the shortcuts given, I’m sure you have ideas of your own as to your most used applications. You can change any of the seven shortcuts in the rather-hidden-away ‘Tools | Settings | Phone | Standby mode | Active standby apps’ (Phew, you really have to get to know the settings hierarchy on these devices!)
