A Russian Review Shows the Nokia 5500 Walks the Talk

The 5500 is marketed by Nokia as a phone that "is specially designed to withstand the daily rigours of work and work-out." And a Russian cellphone site (Mobile Forum if I'm not mistaken) proves that the phone can survive more than day-to-day wear and tear. The smartphone survived being buried dust and soil. Then it continued working after being drenched in milk, beer, and water. It still worked after being dropped 2, 4, then 6 meters! Even the weight of a car wasn't enough to kill the Nokia 5500. The fat lady finally sang once they ran the unit over with the car a second time.
Thank God Mobile Forum was kind enough to post pictures. Using alta vista's Babel Fish to translate the article from Russian to English simply created hilarious "Engrish."
A Tough Phone: Hopefully, this will prove useful for Reden, who is looking for a phone that can survive his active lifestyle. Protection comes with a price though; the Nokia 5500 costs $334.99, $194.99 with a contract from T-Mobile.
