I just watched the 25-minute guided tour of the iPhone, released by Apple to even whet the public's appetite further.
Once again, Apple demonstrates its marketing proficiency. Seeing a detailed visual account of how the smartphone's features work triggered an unconscious urge to fly to the US just to buy the mobile when it comes out on June 29. Even if I consider myself quite a jaded customer.
But that's beside the point. At the very least, the video provides more insights regarding Apple's confidence about their touch-keyboard (from my experience, touch keypads make it hard to type fast) "John Appleseed," the host of the video says this while demonstrating the email client:
"In about a week, you'll be typing faster on iPhone than any other small keyboard, especially if you trust the intelligence of the keyboard."
Which probably means that Apple will be relying on its software to provide a user-friendly experience, instead of ergonomics. Let's just see how good (or bad) the multi-touch interface turns out to be.
